Stay relaxed in front of the camera.
This week Your Video Team put out a new LinkedIn offer to upgrade your profiles. We have had a great response and are looking forward to sharing whose teams we have joined with all their newly upgraded profiles.
A great question that arose from our post was from Claire Turner who is the Managing Director of Educational Life CIC
Claire said, “I don’t like having my photo taken, how do you get around that Ben?”
This is a perfectly natural worry that a lot of our clients feel, with many of them stating they prefer to be behind the camera rather than in front of it!!
Here are a few ideas as to how to stay relaxed when you become the subject…
Like your shooter!!!
It is one of the most important aspects when hiring a photographer or videographer. Of course we all want to be liked but, you need to have a good relationship that enables you to laugh and feel relaxed when they are firing shots from all angles at you.
Environment is important.
If you can, be in your environment. Whether that is your place of work, home or somewhere you love. The more of the project that is on your terms the more you feel confident.
Get involved.
Get involved in the planning. Know what you want from the shoot and be involved in the planning to make sure that happens. If everyone understands the objective and outcome desired then you will all be working cohesively.
Have FUN!!!
This point comes hand in hand with ‘Like your Shooter’. You need to be able to have fun and relax whilst having a camera pointed at you being quizzed on you and your business. Don’t be afraid to laugh, pull a face, make a fart noise when you mess up - It will not only keep you calm but, with provide us with a great outtake reel 😜
We are all human and all get camera shy, don’t be afraid to talk this through with your photographer or videographer who will be able to make you feel comfortable and at ease. No person is the same and so each person will need different techniques.
I hope you have found this weeks tips and tricks helpful. If ever you want to discuss how to feel comfortable in front of the camera then drop me a message and I would be more than happy to tlk things through.
Got a question for my next blog?? Then drop me a message with your name and business so I can give you a shout out.
